The A28 between Assen and Vries is closed in the direction of Groningen after an accident. A car got off the road and ended up in a ditch.
Several emergency services have arrived on site, including the trauma helicopter. The driver of the car was injured and was taken to the hospital.
Initially, only the right -hand lane closed, but later the entire road was locked for storing the car and trace investigation by the police. This means there is miles of traffic jams. The delay is around 40 minutes. Traffic is led from the highway at Assen-Noord. It is advised in the direction of Groningen to drive via the N33 and A7.
