The betting league club AC Oulu loses its August win against FC Inter. The Balloliitto concluded after its investigation that AC Oulu intimidated unrepresentable players in the match.

With the decision, the result of the match played on August 21 changes to a 3–0 victory for FC Inter. Originally, the people of Oulu won 1–0.

Inter made a protest about the match already on the day of the match. According to the team from Turku, there were only eight players who met the criteria of a representative SK player in AC Oulu’s lineup.

In the Swedish Football Association’s competition regulations, an SK player is defined in such a way that the player must have been registered with a Finnish club for three years between the ages of 12 and 21. The order does not take a position on the player’s nationality or age.

The Swedish Football Association investigated the matter and concluded that FC Inter’s observation was correct. AC Oulu didn’t really bring up issues that would have made an exception to the rule possible.

The decision has a big impact on the standings. Losing the win will drop AC Oulu from fifth to seventh in the standings and out of the championship. FC Inter, on the other hand, will rise there.

There are still two rounds left in the Veikkausliiga regular season. After that, the best six teams will continue their games in the championship series to decide the fate of the medals.
