For the prospect of more playing time, Niclas Füllkrug could move to Serie A in the winter. The West Ham United center forward has been linked to AC Milan for some time, and according to new reports from Italy, negotiations are now entering their final phase. Everything could be clear as early as next week. Several media outlets report that an offer has been made and that the formalities will be completed in the coming days. According to “Sky” information from Monday, the Londoners and Milanese are now said to have agreed on a loan deal.
Update 12/23: According to consistent reports, Füllkrug completed his medical check-up in Milan on Tuesday. The contract will also be signed promptly. However, an announcement of the change is not expected until after Christmas and possibly at the beginning of the new year.

There should also be a purchase option for the 24-time German national player, the amount of which was recently calculated with great differences in Italy. “Sky Sport” assumes a contract option for 5 million euros that Milan could use after the season. According to “Gazzetta”, however, 13 million euros would be needed for a permanent commitment. Füllkrug’s market value, which has just fallen significantly again, lies in between; Füllkrug is currently at 8 million euros after three devaluations in a row. When he moved to West Ham he was valued at 15 million euros.
Füllkrug would like to leave West Ham this winter despite a contract that runs until 2028 because he rarely gets a chance. So far this season there have only been nine appearances totaling 413 minutes. VfL Wolfsburg is also reportedly interested and would like to bring him back to the Bundesliga. Füllkrug moved from Borussia Dortmund to London for 27 million euros after the 2024 European Championship. Injury problems and two coaching changes at West Ham have so far prevented his breakthrough in the Premier League.
Füllkrug is also looking for a change to increase his World Cup chances. In Milan he would play in attack with former Bundesliga professionals Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund) and Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig), among others.
