“Abolish”: while the microphone is off, Demir again lashes out at the Flemish Human Rights Institute

Flemish Minister of Labor Zuhal Demir (N-VA) has again lashed out at the Flemish Human Rights Institute (VMRI) in the Flemish Parliament. “Abolish it,” the minister said at a time when her microphone was not on. When that was the case, Demir did not repeat that striking suggestion, but she did criticize the “strange advice” of the VMRI. Coalition partner Vooruit emphasizes that abolishing the VMRI is “not a government position”. Moreover, abolition is not legally possible.
