Aaron Carter’s Death: Was It Suicide?

New information about Aaron Carter’s unexpected death has suggested he may have committed suicide. The investigating police have not yet commented publicly.

A source told the Los Angeles Times that investigators found traces of medication and compressed air in the singer’s bedroom and bathroom. Carter is said to have been lying in the bathwater for some time before his body was discovered. The final toxicological results of the autopsy can take several weeks.

The Musician’s Death

Carter was found dead in his Lancaster bath tub by a housekeeper on Saturday (5th November). The coroner then ordered an autopsy. Officials said they were awaiting further chemical test results before commenting publicly. A suicide was ruled out by the authorities at that time – with the new reports, however, this impression may have changed.

Carter’s career, mental health and drugs

Aaron Carter’s first album AARON CARTER was released at the age of nine (1997). In the same year, the singer went on tour supporting the Backstreet Boys. He also opened shows for Britney Spears back then. The boy quickly gained notoriety with songs like “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”, “Crazy Little Party Girl”, “I Want Candy” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq”.

Over the course of his career, the musician repeatedly addressed the struggle with mental health and substance abuse. In September, Carter went to a rehab clinic for the fifth time to regain custody of his 10-month-old son Prince, who was in the court-ordered custody of his fiancee’s mother.

As the youngest brother of Nick Carter, the Backstreet Boys singer reminisced about his brother via social media. The band also commemorated their deceased brother and friend at their concert on Sunday (November 6th).

Carter’s last album

His sixth work BLACKLISTED was released on November 7th. Originally, the now deceased and the label had planned to release the record on his 35th birthday on December 7th.
