A$AP Rocky is being sued for defamation by A$AP Relli

A$AP Rocky is said to have portrayed A$AP Relli as a liar and blackmailer – he defends himself vehemently.

A$AP Relli claims that A$AP Rocky and his attorney staged a smear campaign against him in connection with a 2021 shooting shortly thereafter. The alleged defamation would have led to death threats against Relli. Now A$AP Relli is suing rapper A$AP Rocky.

A$AP Relli refers to media campaigns carried out by A$AP Rocky 2021 are said to have been started to portray A$AP Relli as a liar, debt collector and extortionist after his complaint that same year. In the American “Rolling Stone” he further claimed that A$AP Rocky received support from his lawyer Joe Tacopina, which is why he is now also accusing him. The lawsuit points to ten separate instances in which A$AP Relli is said to have been defamed in the press.

In particular, it cites Tacopina’s claim to the media that A$AP Relli attempted A$AP Rocky to blackmail through a legal dispute. These allegations have damaged A$AP Relli’s name, which is why he is now demanding compensation. This adds to the ongoing criminal trial against A$AP Rocky, as A$AP Relli reported him for assault after a shooting in 2021. Since A$AP Relli’s lawyer changed in August 2023, the urge to sue not only for bodily harm, but also for defamation, seems to have increased.

Now Terell Ephron, aka A$AP Relli, is represented by Camille Vasquez, who was also Johnny Depp’s lawyer in the Amber Heard trial. This change could explain the new lawsuit.

The 2021 shooting and the smear campaign that allegedly followed was an altercation that both rappers are said to have had in Downtwon Hollywood in 2021. According to “HipHop.de”, the civil lawsuit Ephron later filed against A$AP Rocky said that A$AP Rocky lured him to a “shady” place in order to “talk” to him. When he got there, he fired several shots at him for no good reason. He was said to have been struck by bullet fragments in his left hand and subsequently sued Rocky for $25,000 due to “physical, mental and emotional injuries.”

In August 2022, A$AP Rocky pleaded not guilty to two charges (assault and possession) of a semi-automatic firearm in his ongoing criminal case.
