Aachen's Mika Schroers celebrates after his goal to make it 1-0

As of: April 5, 2026 • 9:53 p.m

Alemannia Aachen continued its winning streak. The outstanding player in the game against SV Wehen Wiesbaden was Mika Schroers.

The Kaiserstadt team won 3-0 (3-0) on Sunday evening and celebrated their fifth win in a row, to which Schroers (11th/18th/40th) made a decisive contribution with three goals. After the poor first half of the season, which Alemannia finished in 17th place, the in-form ninth-placed team can now look up: seven game days before the end of the season, the gap to third place is ten points. Wehen is one point and one place ahead of the Aachen team, but their promotion ambitions were further dampened after the third game without a win in a row.

Aachen had only announced shortly before the encounter that they had exercised the purchase option from Schroers. The previous loanee from Arminia Bielefeld signed a three-year contract with the black and yellow. For Schroers, Aachen’s second-best goalscorer behind Lars Gindorf, who was on loan from Hannover 96 (20 goals), they scored 14 to 16 goals this season against Wehen.

Early double strike through Aachen

Contractions only applied pressure in the opening minutes. Aachen was able to quickly free itself and had the first shots through Pierre Nadjombe and striker Lars Gindorf (8th), both of whom were blocked. At the corner that followed, a long-range shot from Gindorf (9th) sailed just past the right post. After a sharp cross from Mika Schroers, Nadjombe (11th) missed the ball by centimeters in the middle.

With the next opportunity, Alemannia finally took the lead. Schroers (11th) got the ball on the right edge of the penalty area, shot from 14 meters and beat Wehen’s keeper Noah Brdar – who raised his fists but couldn’t prevent the impact. Aachen had the game under control and there was hardly any sign of contractions on offense. A bad pass from Wehen’s Sascha Mockenhaupt near the halfway line directly into the feet of Aachen’s Mehdi Loune invited the hosts to counterattack. Loune played a pass to Schroers (18th), who tunneled through Brdar and increased the score to 2-0.

Contractions without access, Aachen ice cold

Wehen still had little access to the Aachen team, who remained dangerous. Gindorf (27′) missed a cross pass in front of Nadjombe’s Wehen goal by millimeters. It was only in the final phase of the first half that the guests had a compelling chance through Robin Kalem (40th), whose shot from five meters was cleared off the line by Aachen’s Petros Bagalianis.

Lars Gindorf (l.) celebrates Mika Schroers’ hat trick.

But after the first really good action, Wehen was punished again by Aachen in direct return. Gindorf had plenty of space on the right and brought the ball flat to the second post, where Schroers (40th) rushed in and scored his third goal.

Aachen’s victory is no longer in danger

After the half-time break, Mockenhaupt, Moritz Flotho and Fath Kaya remained in the dressing room, but Wehens coach Daniel Scherning brought in Nikolas Agrafiotis, Ben Nink and Ryan Johansson. But Aachen continued to play unimpressed and remained highly concentrated. Schroers (54th) tried a cheeky lob from 35 meters against Brdar, but narrowly missed his fourth goal. On a counterattack, the guests came in front of the Alemannia goal, but after a Kalem cross, Agrafiotis (57th) headed well over the crossbar.

In the last 20 minutes, Aachen took their foot off the accelerator. After a corner in the 69th minute, Wehen briefly celebrated a supposed goal from Tarik Gözüsirin, but it was disallowed due to an offside position. Loune (75th) had the 4-0 win for Aachen, his deflected shot bounced just past the right post. Agrafiotis caused a stir (77′), whose shot from the left corner of the penalty area was deflected onto the crossbar by Aachen’s goalkeeper Manuel Riemann with difficulty.
