A58 near Moergestel is open again after an accident involving several cars

The A58 motorway from Eindhoven to Tilburg has been reopened after an accident involving several cars near Moergestel. On Tuesday around a quarter past six, several cars collided with each other, so the highway was closed for several hours.

Devastation arose on the A58 after a Tesla was hit from behind by another motorist on Tuesday. Then the two cars behind the Tesla also collided. One of those vehicles ended up on its side on the highway. Traffic had to detour via Vught on the A2 and the N65.

injured
An occupant of the Tesla was taken to the hospital for a check-up, she was approachable and was able to get out of the car herself. It is not known whether there were also injuries in the other two vehicles.

The accident happened in the left lane. The road to Tilburg was completely closed, the closure lasted until half past eight. Fire brigade, police, ambulance and a salvage company came to the scene to provide assistance. The traffic that was behind the accident and could not go back for the diversion has been diverted over the hard shoulder.

Even more traffic jams
The A58 is not the only highway where it went wrong on Tuesday. Around half past four, three cars and a van collided on the A50 near Ravenstein. As a result, the delay from Eindhoven increased rapidly and there was a traffic jam of about fourteen kilometers at the peak. That led to an hour and a half delay.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, a broken truck was parked on the A58 from Tilburg to Eindhoven near Oirschot. As a result, the road between Oirschot and Moergestel was also temporarily closed. Later Tuesday afternoon, the right lane of the A58 was closed after an accident between Roosendaal and Rucphen.
On the A59 from Den Bosch in the direction of Zonzeel, a car window fell, causing traffic delays of almost half an hour.
