The A27 from Gorinchem to Breda was closed on Tuesday morning around seven o’clock between Hank and Keizersveerbrug after an accident in which several cars were involved.
“A van is completely assembled at the front and meters away are two other damaged cars,” says a passer-by. “A lot of emergency services are present and around 7:30 am a trauma helicopter landed on the road.” A second air ambulance is said to be on its way.

The closure led to a traffic jam from Werkendam around a quarter to eight to twelve kilometers. At that time, the delay was over an hour. “Various people view the situation from the hard shoulder and wonder how long they will have to stand still there.”
Traffic is advised to drive via Den Bosch and Waalwijk and to follow the A15, A2 and A59.
Police investigation
Rijkswaterstaat fears that the road will remain closed until noon, due to a police investigation.
