The A2 towards Maastricht was closed at the Batadorp junction on Thursday afternoon after an accident involving several cars. The delay for traffic is more than 45 minutes.
Several emergency services are on site. Traffic heading south can use the parallel lane, Rijkswaterstaat reports.
According to the ANWB, there is a traffic jam of 13 minutes on that parallel carriageway.
