Two women died this Monday in a school from the Swedish city of Malmö, in the south of the country, after being attacked by a young man who has been arrested as a murder suspect, police said.
The two women, in their 50s, were injured at the Latino school where they worked, but died after being taken by ambulance to the hospital, according to a police statement. An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, suspected of murder, and the Swedish Police investigate the case.
About 50 people were at the school when the incident occurred. The building was evacuated and searched and the Police found no indication that there are more suspects. It has also carried out investigative measures at the school and elsewhere.
“We were able to arrest the perpetrator. Now there is much work to be done in order to understand what happened and the underlying reason for this terrible event,” says Åsa Nilsson, head of the North Malmö local police area, in the note.
