According to Sabah’s news; Within the scope of the investigation into the crime of “Laundering of Assets Derived from Crime” carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Prevention of the Financing of Terrorism and Laundering Crime Investigation Bureau against Erden Timur, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund was appointed as trustee to the companies that were considered to be used in the activities of laundering the proceeds of crime obtained within the scope of the predicate crimes.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After NEF Chairman of the Board of Directors and former Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Deputy Chairman Erden Timur was detained within the scope of the “Betting and match-fixing in football” investigation, his file was separated from the current investigation. Timur was arrested on December 29 on the charge of “laundering assets resulting from crime”. It was determined that Erden Timur sold 24 flats to illegal betting baron Veysel Şahin and laundered money under the name of ‘sale of real estate’ and ‘deposit’ by purchasing real estate.
