Deeply knowledgeable about public administration and a “convinced Europeanist”, as the President of the Government has defined him, Carlos Body (Badajoz, 1980) will become the Economy Ministerreplacing Nadia Calvino, who becomes president of the European Investment Bank (EIB). Body, with a very technical profile and the utmost confidence of Calviño, will be under the coordination of the new vice president and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, who replaces the new president of the EIB as number two in the Government.
Body has held the reins of the Treasure as general secretary in the Ministry of Economy. He has been responsible for leading the representation of Spain in the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union (CEF). -preparatory meeting of the Eurogroup and Ecofin-, as well as representing Spain in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the EIB or the G20, among others.

In 2011 a secondment to the European Commission as a national expert, within the General Directorate of Economic and Financial Affairs, carrying out responsibilities related to the implementation of the Macroeconomic imbalances procedure. In particular, the monitoring and analysis of real estate markets and private sector balance sheets.
