A surprise announcement from HIFK – A long-time power figure left his position

15 years as the chairman of the Finnish championship league club Helsinki IFK Timo Everi leave his job. Everi has also become known as the leader of the Helsinki Garden project.

Everi continues as the chairman of the Red Events Restaurants company founded in June. It is a subsidiary owned by HIFK, which is responsible for the restaurant operations of the Helsinki Ice Hall.

The new chairman was elected at the general meeting held on Wednesday Jaakko Eskola, who has served as CEO of Wärtsilä from 2015 to 2021. Last year, he was elected chairman of the Technology Industry.

In addition to Ever, he left the club’s board Leo-Dan Bensky. In addition to Eskola, a well-known writer and entrepreneur was elected as a new member Saku Tuominen.

HIFK also announced on Wednesday that the club’s background company Oy HIFK-Hockey Ab made a profit of 308,000 euros in the ended financial period. Turnover rose to a record of around 10.9 million euros.
