Now that the grandparents of the French toddler Émile disappeared in July 2023 together with two of their adult children have been arrested for deliberate manslaughter and corporate resistance, attention in the French media is mainly to the grandfather of the boy, whose arrest has been extended by 24 hours on Tuesday evening, the French channel ‘BFMTV’ reports. The strict -religious Philippe Vedovini (58) appears to have come into contact with the court earlier. He came into the picture in the judiciary in 2018 for charges about sexual and physical violence against students in a Catholic boarding school where he worked in the early 1990s.
