The fire started at HVP Lighting, a lighting wholesaler, along Waregemstraat in Deerlijk. A plume of black smoke can be seen from far away. The fire is already in the roof. Emergency services are on site en masse to extinguish the fire. “In the meantime, we have been hearing emergency services for 25 minutes straight. The fire continues to spread. It seems like an unequal battle,” says a local resident.
