Kuopio Palloseura’s historic season ended with one more historic trick. KuPS drew 2–2 as a guest of Crystal Palace and advanced to the next games in the Conference League.
No Finnish club has been successful in a similar Euro competition before.
The sensational result also meant an excellent accounting day. KuPS won the 133,000 euro pot for the draw. On top of that, a prize money of 200,000 euros is added for the next place.
The two-part follow-up round will be played in February 2026.
Before Thursday’s last match of the league stage, KuPS had already earned 4.7 million euros from its Conference League contract.
