Long jumper Kristian Pullin The World Cup fell due to health problems. The Finn finished second to last in the final, i.e. in 14th place.
After the race, he says that he was disappointed that the run didn’t go because of a calf cramp.
– I couldn’t get the run to work at all because my calves were completely tilted, and unfortunately it didn’t make it any easier during the race, Pulli laments.
Pulli says he tried to fix the situation with salt and liquids, but nothing helped.
– If it hits during the race, there’s not much you can do about it.
Iltalehti’s athletics expert Arto Bryggare points out that the training jumps looked really good.
– Well, everything was fine until the first jump, Pulli sighs.
Pulli felt a cramp right away in the first sprint.
– It’s my own mistake. There may have been less often these evening races, so maybe there was a slight lack of refueling. Gotta learn from this, the jumper sucks.
– Yes, it’s sad that you didn’t get to measure your own fitness.
Before the WC indoor competitions, Pulli was in excellent shape. He easily jumped more than 8 meters during his reign.
– Halli’s season was good. Of course, it’s sad because these opportunities come so rarely when you get to compete with the best in the world. But progress has been made in many areas, that must be remembered.
– This was clearly the weakest race of the season. I couldn’t jump at my level.
