With new episodes and new philosophers to explore Dante Balestra is back on RaiUnothe professor, indeed A professor with rather unconventional methods.
The series, produced by Rai Fiction and Banijay, is an interesting attempt to revive the ancient tradition of national fiction set in school contextscombining the usual and obvious dynamics of adolescence with “pills” of wisdom that often risk resulting in the abuse of quotations.

Professor Balestra is played by Alessandro Gassmann; he is a teacher at a Roman high school who pushes students to question their own behavior starting from the most well-known philosophers (each episode is dedicated to a specific thinker).
The third season (all are available on RaiPlay) opened with Shakespeare and then continued with Wittgenstein and Popper. The problems of adolescents, their mistakes and disturbances, become a pretext for discussing the truth, responsibility and so on.
Balestra teaches in the same class as his son Simone and starts a relationship with Anita, the mother of one of his students. Even philosophy inevitably leads to melodrama.
For those who love adolescent stories approached with intelligence.
