Donald Trump has won the international football association FIFA’s Peace Prize.
Fifa president Gianni Infantino lubricated his relationship with Trump by awarding him a trophy and a medal in connection with the World Cup group draw.
– The award is given annually on behalf of billions of football-loving people. It is awarded to a person who shows an unshakable will to promote peace and unity in the world, Infantino added.
The event listed many countries between which Trump was said to have promoted peace. Russia and Ukraine were also mentioned.
– Trump is taking continuous steps to bring permanent peace between Russia and Ukraine, the audience was told.
Strange speech
Trump was delighted with the awards. He grabbed the medal eagerly.
– I will put this on my neck right away, the president said.
– Thank you very much. This is one of the greatest honors of my life.
After the thanks, Trump took his speech in a special direction. He started praising the World Cup ticket sales in connection with the peace prize. The United States is participating in organizing next summer’s World Cup.
– I have known Gianni for a long time. He has done a wonderful job. You have set new records in ticket sales. I wouldn’t want to bring that up right now, but it’s a great tribute to you. The numbers are higher than anyone thought, Trump said.
– A year ago, the United States was not doing very well, but now we are the hottest country in the whole world. We are also going to stick to it, he added.
