The Spede Saluuna pub, founded by the late entertainment legend Pertti “Spede” Pasanen in 1967, closed its doors in March. The reason for the closure of the restaurant operation was the filing for bankruptcy of Sinoll Oy, the owner of the restaurant.

In April, the company’s bankruptcy estate has now auctioned off the businesses of the three restaurants it owns, and the auction has ended on Monday of this week. Reported about it Kouvola Sanomat.

The bankruptcy nest received the highest bid from a restaurant in Lehtohovi, which, according to the newspaper, was the subject of a fierce bidding competition. The price of Lehtohof eventually rose to 20,500 euros.

Speden Saluuna, on the other hand, was offered at the highest price of 7,100 euros. A total of 70 offers were made for the pub from seven different parties. The third restaurant that was auctioned was Club Touba, whose highest bid was only 400 euros.

– The total amount and Speden Saluuna’s highest offer were in the same range as I expected, but Touba and Lehtohovi went to extremes, administrator of the bankruptcy estate Samuli Nieminen comment to the newspaper.

Next, the administrator of the bankruptcy estate contacts the parties that made the highest bid for each restaurant and starts negotiating the sale of the restaurants’ business premises. Sinoll Oy owned the properties of all three restaurants and the buyers of the businesses have the right of first refusal on the business premises.

Spede Pasanen was involved in the restaurant operations of Speden Saluuna since its establishment for three years before withdrawing in 1970. Speden Saluuna was one of the oldest pubs in Finland operating at the same location and name before it closed its doors.

“Today is the day when the legendary Speden Saluuna, which was a part of the lives of many Kouvola residents at one time or another, closes its doors. Saluuna was owned by a small family business for the last 27 years. There is a lot of memories, employees, customers, beer cans sold, partners, renovations, setbacks and successes along the way. Each of these made Speden Saluuna a place you can only be grateful for,” the restaurant said in its announcement at the end of March.
