First there were riders on competition horses, from about 2027 onwards families from Zoetermeer will live there. The grounds of Stal Dijkshoorn on Vierde Stationsstraat in Rokkeveen are making way for a new residential area.

Next year, the sale of various types of new-build homes on the Stal Dijkshoorn site will start. These houses will be sold under the project name The Horsemanship.

The front house remains

De Ruiterij will soon be intended for families who are looking for more space to play and enjoy nature. The project developer is still working on shaping the new residential area. That is why there is currently no information available about the types of homes, prices and planning. In any case, the characteristic, monumental front house along Vierde Stationsstraat will be preserved.

From cows to horses

The farm from 1875 at Vierde Stationsstraat 450 was originally a cheese farm of the Dijkshoorn family. For decades, several generations had a dairy farm there. In the 1980s, the cows made way for horses and became the farm Stable Dijkshoorn. Since 2013 it has been the dressage and training stable of Jacobine Bijl-Dijkshoorn and Evert-Jan Bijl. The equestrian training center offers dressage training, among other things.
