NEWS dresses up for a party As every year, the newsroom of the most widely read general interest magazine in the Spanish language celebrates a new anniversary and delivers ¨The 10 Argentines of the year”, a recognition of the most outstanding personalities of 2022. We celebrated our 33rd birthday with a cocktail at the emblematic and historical building of the Munich, in Puerto Madero. And in a mega event that is possible thanks to the support of Renault, Bad Boy by Carolina Herrera and KPMG.

With no pandemic in sight, having already recovered normality, 2022 came with great problems in the Argentine economy. The Government was forced to deal with a complex economic crisis, inflation that seemed unstoppable and exchange problems, which it cannot find a way around. To such an extent that it does not stop causing constant claims from the opposition and, even, harsh crosses and claims within the Frente de Todos itself. Despite this, there are always people who manage to stand out and NOTICIAS recognizes the talents and wills that fill us with pride.

This selection was inaugurated in 2015. On that occasion, the chosen ones were Pope Francis; the then president-elect, Mauricio Macri; the governor-elect of the Province of Buenos Aires, María Eugenia Vidal; Lino Barañao, Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of the Nation; film businessman Hugo Sigman; Susana Gimenez; Santiago del Moro; the sports duo of coaches Marcelo Gallardo and Rodolfo Arruabarrena; the social worker Juan Manuel Casolatti; and the neurobiologist Facundo Manes.

in 2016 recognized the work of Gabriel Rabinovich, biochemist, for his research work on tumor cells; María O’Donnell, for her pluralist work on Public TV; Juan Percossi, president of IPH; the parish priest Javier Klajner; Santiago Lange, winner of the yachting gold medal at the Rio Olympics; Eduardo Costantini, founder of Malba; Oscar Martínez, who this year won the Best Actor Award at the Venice Festival for “El ciudadano illustrio”; Martina Stoessel, for her first solo album and her international tour; Elisa Carrió, distinguished by her constant critical attitude, even as part of the government coalition; and Mirtha Legrand, distinguished as a screen icon for hosting the longest-running cycle of television in the world.

In 2017, the recognized personalities were: Soda Stereo, in the “Music” category; Luciana Geuna in “journalism”; Gabriela Gonzalez he was part of the team that this year won the Nobel Prize in Physics, in “Science”; in “Culture”, Martin Zivakauthor of several journalistic books; Roberto Souviron, founder of Despegar.com, in the “Company” category; Ariel Holand, coach of INdependiente de Avellaneda, in “Sport”; Daniel Menendez he is the coordinator of the Barrios de Pie Movement, in “Social Action”; Jaime Durán Barba and Susana Malcorra, in “Politics”; and in “Televisión”, the outstanding actor, author and director, Julio Chávez.

In 2018, Estela de Carlotto, head of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, went up on the Malba stage to receive their recognition; the swimmer Delfina Pignatiello; the journalist Diego Cabot; Alexia Rattazzi, founder of PANAACEA; Hector Otheguy, General Manager and CEO of INVAP SE; Luis Pagani, president of the Arcor Group; the singer and actress Lali Esposito; Hecatombe, the Cordovan group that has been making humor on social networks since 2012; the writer and screenwriter Claudia Piñeiro; the then Minister of Social Development of the Nation, Carolina Stanley, and the National Senator, Miguel Ángel Pichetto; and actress Carla Peterson.

In 2019, NOTICIAS celebrated its 30th anniversary with a gala at the Teatro Colón. Those recognized then were: the renowned actress Grace Borges; the coach of the Argentine basketball team Sergio “Oveja” Hernández; Beatriz Sarlo; Martín Migoya, CEO of Globant; John Carr; Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, and its director Victoria Noorthorn; daniel de florian, PhD in Physical Sciences from the Faculty of Exact Sciences of the National University of La Plata; journalist Marcelo Zlotowiazda; the musician David Lebón; and the renowned Argentine actress and host, Mirtha Legrand.

In 2020, due to the pandemic, NOTICIAS was forced to suspend it. But in 2021 he returned with everything and the Sívori museum witnessed the 10 most prominent personalities, including the Buenos Aires Minister of Health Fernán Quirós, the president of CONICET Ana Franchi, actor and conductor Jay Mammón, the creator of Ualá Pierpaolo Barbieri, actress and host Juana Viale, the writer Eduardo Sacheri, The actor Mauricio Dayub, the first trans soccer player Mara Gómez, the teacher Ana María Stelman, the musician and environmentalist Charly Alberti, one of the creators of Soda Stereo.
