“Un amore”: Stefano Accorsi and Micaela Ramazzotti in the Valentine's Day Sky series

The meeting is one of those that leaves a mark, but between the two there is no desire to meet after the trip. In fact, Anna has a secret that she carries with her. Her deal is to write letters to each other. Anna and Alessandro will write to each other for twenty years until he proposes to meet again in Bologna. Passion erupts there remained pending all that time, but Anna has a family.

A love: the plot of the first two episodes

Alexander (Accorsi) he is an architect who works around the world. His city is Bologna. It is precisely there that he returns a few days to meet his sick mother (Ottavia Piccolo) and to see a person with whom he has written for twenty years. Anna (Ramazzotti), a nature lover and graduate in agriculture, lives in Bologna with the companion of a lifetime Guido (Alessandro Tedeschi) and with whom he has a son who studies in London.

The past intersects with the present. Summer 1997. On a train headed to Spain Alexander (Luca Santoro) e Anna (Beatrice Fiorentini)just over eighteen years old, they meet because of a fake mugging. Believing that they were stealing the boy’s backpack while he was sleeping, she wakes him up, and together they get off the train to chase the alleged thief. The backpack was not Alessandro’s. From that moment Anna and the stranger decide to continue the journey togetherhe is looking for a father he has never seen, she is carrying a secret.

Love blossoms between the twothe looks and attitudes are explanatory, but the new lovers decide not to deepen the relationship and to live by writing letters to each other. They continue like this for twenty years, until Alexanderhaving returned to Bologna one day, decides to break their pact and give Anna a date.

In reality he had already tried many years before and she had not shown up for the appointment: he was afraid of feeling too good. This time the redhead with long hair and dark eyes shows up in front of the hotel where Alessandro is staying.

20 years of love letters between Alessandro and Anna

Alessandro and Anna cross paths as they pass through the revolving door of the hotel where the architect is staying. Their gazes meet and do not move away from each other, just like that summer twenty years earlier when Alessandro spent hours observing Anna. The love tension began in 1997which has remained suspended over the years and among the hundreds of written pages, is released in a passionate encounter.

«Sexuality was fundamental to include in the story, it couldn’t not be there – he observes Stefano Accorsialso creator of the series –, there Sexuality is something atavistic in the human being, and it reveals a lot about us and who we are.” Anna, however, has to deal with her life and the story she lived with her partner Guido. He is afraid of letting himself go completely with Ale and immerse yourself in a completely different world. The choice will be revealed only at the end of the series which, like a romantic thriller, keeps the viewer in suspense.

The soundtrack of the 80s and 90s: between Go with me by Paolo Conte and Alright by Supergrass

The series tries to delve into the truth of feelings. «It’s the most difficult thing to tell on TV or in the cinema a feeling as complex as love – states Accorsi – because it conveys myriads of meanings. Here we tell a story that was born almost by mistake. And which isn’t? I believe that absolute love can be born from imperfection.”

To amplify the romantic tension Lagi and the screenwriters they rely on flashbackto the first meeting and the first glances between the two, to the details of an adolescent love accompanied by the hands of songs from the 80s and 90s, like Go with me (It’s Wonderful) by Paolo Conte or Alright of the Supergrass, that crystallize time.

A coming and going between past and present that recalls the effective narration adopted in the Sky series One summer does with Linen Guanciale. Also there to leverage on the effect nostalgia it was still the atmosphere and songs of the 90s.
