On April 6, 2025, Central Cee made his long -awaited debut in Velodrom Berlin. And what can be said? A rapper, a microphone, a stage – and a wall. This is how it feels what Central CEE is going on in Berlin that evening. The staging is highly glossy, the beats sit, the look anyway. But what is missing is the feeling of being part of something.
Central Cee is there – and remains alone
Although the appearance with flamet trailers, a car on stage and atmospheric video edits is visually framed, but the air stays thin between the artist and crowd. Songs like “Doja” only ignite mediocre. Moshpits? None – at least until Luciano steps on stage.
Only Luciano brought life to the concert
Luciano, who noticeably realizes that the hall wants energy, makes every effort to tickle the audience awake. Its classic interactions – hands up, open circle, upgrading energy – immediately has an effect. Two moshpits at the same time – suddenly there is the concert dynamics that you would have wanted from the start. For a short moment, Berlin seems ready to freak out completely.
But as soon as Luciano leaves the stage, the mood barometer falls noticeably again. Central Cee smiles now. Maybe he liked this short intoxication. Maybe he should only have triggered him. But the urge to really pull the audience away is also left out after this intermezzo.
An invisible motivator in the background
An invisible motivator in the background of the through the MIC tries to heat the shop. “Energy?!” – calls it from somewhere. But motivation through the box does not replace a real address from the front. In the end, Cee himself says: he decided to let his music speak for himself. A nobles principle – but in a concert hall that wants to bubble is not enough.
Of course there are highlights: a FaceTime session, transferred live to the canvas, directly with fans from the crowd. A creative POV play, as you rarely see it-modern, digital, interactive. But Gimmicks do not replace emotion.
It remains pale
Maybe it was due to the expectations – or the German audience. Perhaps also to CEES tour plan, which brought him in Hamburg the day before and the evening after a club show in the Berlin HipHop Club 808. But maybe it was just an evening on which two sides faced – without knowing how to deal with each other. Central Cee delivers a visually and tonially strong show in Berlin – but it remains emotionally pale. Too little crowd work, too much distance.
The people in the Venue would have liked to give more, but Cee hardly demanded it. Only in short moments – with Luciano, with isolated interactions – can you feel what could have been.
