A look behind the scenes: AnnenMayKantereit publish a small making-of for “Es ist Abend”

On Monday (October 31), AnnenMayKantereit gave an insight into the family video shoot for the released song “Es ist Abend” in the form of a making-of.

The fourth studio record is scheduled for release on March 3rd, 2023 and was produced by Markus Ganter and Fabian Langer.

“Sorry, I sang right away”

The new TikTok video by AnnenMayKantereit conveys the private atmosphere in which the music video for “Es ist Abend” was created. At the same time, the musicians show that there is a concept and several takes behind the production. The fact that Henning May also sings himself once doesn’t seem to be unusual.

The video session for “Es ist Abend” was released on Friday (October 28). The three from Cologne sit around a table in the candlelight and play the piece in an intimate atmosphere.

The single “3 Tage am Meer” for the forthcoming record has already been released.

In the complete production of the 15 pieces on “It’s evening and we’re sitting with me”, the three musicians dared to take a new approach. The press release says: “They didn’t want to sit in isolation in a studio or in a home office, but rather have a few nice evenings with friends. So during the production in the summer of 2022, the trio was not only musicians and songwriters, but always hosts as well.”

Henning May himself on the making of the record: “We were so keen on friends coming to the rehearsal room and hanging out with us without worrying about whether there were too many of us or whether the self-test was enough.”
