Ice hockey player Vladislav Eremenko was badly injured in the KHL.

The 25-year-old Belarusian defender representing Metallurg Magnitogorsk fell on the sideline during Thursday’s match against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. In a normal puck pursuit situation, Eremenko lost his balance and tumbled to the sideline.

Eremenko was left lying on the surface of the ice in pain and had to be carried away from the rink on a stretcher. After the match, the head coach of the team Andrei Razin gave a harsh analysis of his player’s situation.

– Being injured is really bad. It’s good if he can even play again after something like that. He will be on the sidelines at least for the rest of the season, Razin commented to Match TV recently.

Later, the club said that Eremenko’s hip was badly broken. In addition, the force of the shock twisted the hip out of place. His injuries required surgical treatment.

Eremenko has appeared in the Ice Hockey World Championships in the Belarusian team 2021. At that time, he scored one goal in the five matches he played. This season, he managed to score eight (3+5) power points for Metallurg in 34 matches.
