A ‘holiday day’ with Rinus VeeKay: “I take it more seriously than other drivers”

Rinus van Kalmthout will stay in the United States for the entire racing season, but during the winter break he will be in the Netherlands for a few weeks. However, the 21-year-old IndyCar driver from Hoofddorp does not sit still and does full sports to stay in shape. “The rest of the drivers eat cheeseburgers, while I have a salad or nut bar.”

Together with his girlfriend Carmen, he uses almost every day off during his holiday to work out hard. The driver, who won his first IndyCar race last season, also takes the winter break very seriously. “I think I’m one of the fittest drivers.”

VeeKay’s first race of the new season is February 27 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Before the IndyCar season starts, the North Hollander will drive the 24 Hours of Daytona in the last weekend of January.
