A forest fire fueled by the Tramuntana burns in Roses

A total of 40 crews of the Firefighters they work in a Forest fire which has been declared in roses (Alt Empordà) shortly before midnight, and which has advanced strongly pushed by the tramuntana. In fact, according to the Fire Brigade, the firefighting troops are deployed in a perimeter of about 400 hectares.

The fire has been declared in a area near Mas Oliva and has progressed rapidly in the direction of Montjoi, reinforced by the wind, which at times has exceeded the 70 kilometers per hour in the area, in full Cap de Creus Natural Park. The tail and the left flank of the fire, more slowly, advance against the wind towards Pic de l’Àliga and Mas dels Arbres.

Weather conditions complicate extinction of fire:

Do not approach the area

The fire has forced confine a fortnight of people from Cala Montjoi and three More of Cala Jòncols. The road is closed and it is requested not to approach the fire.

In the fire, of which the notice was received at 11:15 p.m. this Monday, a device made up of 40 ground crews from the Firefighters of the Generalitat, including 20 water vehicles, the units GRAPH (Grup d’Actuacions Forestals), EPAF (Active Prevention Team) and the GROS (Support Operative Group).

In addition, several units of the ADF from the area, as well as members of the Rural Agents, the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Local Police and the Emergency Medical System (SEM) on a preventive basis.
