A fire at Sabadell airport forces air traffic to close

A fire that has started in an area of ​​vegetation that adjoins the aSabadell airport (Barcelona) It has affected the airport facilities, where two booths have burned, and has forced this infrastructure to be closed to air traffic.

Sources from the Fire Brigade of the Generalitat have explained to EFE that the fire started at around 12:45 p.m. in an orchard area near the airport and, subsequently, it entered the premises of the installation, which has forced the activation of the aerodrome emergency plan.

Civil Protection, for its part, has activated the Aerocat plan alert as a result of this fire at the airport facilities.

The fire has already been perimeter but, according to the same sources, the airport will not be able to open again to air traffic until it is suffocated.

Eight Fire Department crews are working on the extinction work, aided by aerial means.
