Max Eberl wobbles. Bayern are supposed to plan behind the scenes without him. Is it just a matter of time?
Hardly a year in office – and already before? At FC Bayern it is bubbling behind the scenes, and in the middle of it: Max Eberl. The sports director, only fetched with large advance laurels in February 2024, is suddenly on the brink. Too expensive, too comprehensible, too badly coordinated – this is the allegations that are circulating in the club. At least more and more media report this, including the “Munich evening newspaper”.
According to the media reports, successor candidates for Eberl are already traded internally. Christoph Freund, as a sports director so far in the shade, is one of them. Ralf Rangnick and Mario Gomez were also said to be probed. And Sky also brings Frankfurt-Boss Markus Krösche into play.
The power struggle in Munich is obviously in full swing – and for Max Eberl the air becomes noticeably thinner.
