On December 25th In 2023, Helene Fischer caused discontent among many fans. The reason: The pop superstar sang a duet with Nena on the “Helene Fischer Show”. Because she made some statements during the Corona period that brought her close to the “lateral thinkers,” there was a lot of criticism of the joint appearance on the Internet. One person who can’t understand this is music manager Thomas Stein. What’s more: Stein dealt heavily with the critics in an interview with “Focus”.
“A few philistines get upset and turn a small thing into a monument. “That’s typical,” Stein explained. He expressly defended the musician: “Nena is an artist who has been giving people a lot of joy with her music for a long time. We can’t just banish them for decades now.”
Stein also had a little “whataboutism” ready: “Many politicians say stupid things every day. That’s why they don’t get a ban on performing,” says Stein.
Twitter criticism of Nena
“It’s also a statement to sing with Nena,” wrote one user on Twitter after the duet. Another sarcastically asks whether the pop singer and alleged conspiracy theorist Michael Wendler would appear as an encore.
A Fischer fan is disappointed that she invites “lateral thinker Nena” and attests: “Nogo [sic!] Helene”
Others find the criticism of Nena’s performance ridiculous and accuse the “woke bubble” of indignation. But some were also happy about the joint performance in a completely non-ideological way.
