A dull end for Kalle Rovanperä in the second division – “It ended before it could start”

Kalle Rovanperä’s driver froze while drifting.

Leading the World Rally Championship Kalle Rovanperän was supposed to aim for success on Saturday in his second favorite sport, i.e. drifting.

However, the technique failed the Finnish sport in the EC competition in Fällfors, Northern Sweden. The engine of Rovanperä’s Toyota Supra froze in the first corner.

Rovanperä’s runs ended in a playoff-like race for the first round, from which the winners of the 16 pairs advance to the next round.

– Unfortunately, it ended before it could start, Rovanperä wrote in his Twitter post.

The car’s camera could also see small flames under the hood.

– We had technical problems even before the last practice, and the guys did a huge job to get us to the starting line. Unfortunately, the problems returned and I was unable to finish the race, Rovanperä continued.

In Friday’s qualifying run, Rovanperä was fourth.

At the same time, Rovanperä said that he is already looking forward to the next race in the series, which will be held in July at Alahärmä Powerpark.
