FC Bayern wants to further strengthen its defense. Now it looks like a defender from England could soon be signed.
FC Bayern is about to sign another player. According to a report in the “Bild” newspaper, a decision on Kieran Trippier’s move from Newcastle United to the German record champions will be made on Tuesday.
Accordingly, the Bayern bosses around Jan-Christian Dreesen are apparently optimistic that they will be able to announce the completion of the transfer soon. The 33-year-old Trippier is considered coach Thomas Tuchel’s dream player.
As the newspaper further reports, Newcastle United are said to be not averse to letting the right-back go. Trippier still has a contract until 2025 and could come to Munich permanently.
A transfer fee of between 10 and 15 million euros is said to be under discussion. Trippier has been with the Premier League club since 2022 and previously played for Atlético Madrid (2019 to 2022) and Tottenham (2015 to 2019), among others.
