A competitor has died in the Snowcross Championship in Parikkala.
This is confirmed by the Secretary General of the Finnish Motor Association for Iltalehti Ville Salonen.
– There has been a fatal accident where one competitor died, says Salonen.
Snowcross competes with snowmobiles.
The Finnish Championship was scheduled to go through Saturday and Sunday. The competition was suspended after the accident happened and will not be continued.
A researcher has been established on site that will investigate the causes of the event with the authorities.
More detailed details of the accident are not yet known to the Motor Union.
