Opening by Prime Minister Daniel Günther
“A big compliment to the Working Group for Contemporary Building, the Lübeck University of Technology, the IBSH and NordBau for this event. Networking here, at this location in Neumünster, is an absolutely brilliant idea. It’s great that we’re sitting together in this context with this expertise,” says the Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, Daniel Günther. Günther opened the first CONBAU Nord in the Holstenhallen Congress Center in Neumünster with his speech.
Get out of the silo mentality
“We want to get out of the silo mentality,” says Prof. Dietmar Walberg, the motto of this year’s and first CONBAU Nord. “The sustainable transformation of our residential buildings towards sustainability and climate neutrality is the greatest technical, economic and social challenge in Germany for decades. “It will only succeed together and with intensive professional discussion by everyone involved in housing construction,” Walberg continued.
Students and the heat transition
“We were also able to recruit some students for the congress. A large number also come to us and want to actively shape the heating transition. We are happy to give them the knowledge as a tool so that they are prepared for their professional careers,” says Prof. Sebastian Fiedler about the role of students in the heat transition.
A brilliant idea
Matthias Boxberger, Spaeker at the opening of CONBAU Nord and CEO of Avacon AG, a sister company of HanseWerk, gives a lecture on the energy transition in Germany. According to Boxbreger, the new heat will be produced using electricity using renewable energies. “The topic of heat transition is more relevant than ever. I congratulate you on your choice of topic. CONBAU Nord will go down as a congenial idea from NordBau,” says Boxberger.
TH Lübeck represented in a variety of ways at NordBau
Anyone interested can take a look at the various formats of the TH Lübeck at NordBau until September 8th, 2024: the circular economy forum with the participation of the TH Lübeck, the SH material testing institute, the exhibition “Rethinking living, shaping change” (Daniel Nicolas Lenz ), the SH construction initiative, the Interreg project Fehmarn Belt Innovation, work by students.
Privacy protection 2.0
Two of them are Miriam Kranz and Fatma Saricam. The architecture students launched the “Visibility Protection 2.0” project in their sixth semester. This resulted in a prototype for a three-part privacy screen, which they then implemented together with a carpentry workshop. “The domes are intended to be rented and, for example, to spend the night in,” says Miriam Kranz. “During the project we had problems that arose from time to time because we were creating something new. We then had to solve it ourselves step by step. We gain a lot of experience from this,” says Fatma Saricam.
About CONBAU Nord
CONBAU Nord was founded by TH Lübeck, ARGE eV, IB.SH and NordBau. It is dedicated to the central topics of housing construction and the heating transition. In the Holstenhallen Neumünster, parallel to the NordBau trade fair, experts came together for the first time on September 4th and 5th, 2024 for a future-oriented program with 15 sessions on the topics of housing construction and transformation in existing buildings, heating transition, circular economy, digitalization and securing skilled workers.
The congress is recognized by chambers of architects and engineers, so that further training points can be earned by participating in the individual sessions.
The experts exchange the latest knowledge from Germany and Scandinavia and make valuable contacts. CONBAU Nord stands for interdisciplinary collaboration, offers a platform for real exchange and is the place to actively shape the future of construction.
