The Malian authorities have communicated that this Saturday there has been an attack on a passenger bus in the center of the country, which has left several dead and wounded, according to preliminary reports. The bus has exploded an explosive device This Thursday around 2:00 p.m. between the towns of Bandiagara and Gundaga, the Malijet medium collects.
Local sources have indicated that the provisional balance of victims shows several dead and wounded. The vehicle has been completely damaged, as indicated by the aforementioned media. The United Nations has “strongly” condemned the attack; however, it has not specified the number of victims.
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) has offered its condolences to the families and has expressed “its solidarity with the Government and people of Mali in this moment of mourning”. Likewise, MINUSMA has recalled that it will continue to work with the country’s authorities “in support of their efforts to restore the lasting security to which the people of Mali aspire so deeply”.
