Mike Johnson doesn’t understand what the Finn is saying.
Patrik Laine put a target on his own back with his statements. Then it crashed. PDO
Moved from Columbus to Montreal last summer Patrick Laine caused quite a stir when he criticized his former club in a rare way.
– It felt like the same thing was done there year after year. I was tired of losing and giving up and already in December to focus on the new season. I don’t like that. It’s frustrating for a player when you want to win and some others don’t, Laine said.
The Finn made his statement just before Montreal played against Columbus.
– It was unnecessary, former NHL player Mike Johnson said TSN directly Overdrivein the radio program.
Johnson currently works as an expert. Laine, with her annoyance, only made her feel bad for herself.
– He put a target on his own back, Johnson estimated.
And this is indeed what happened. The Columbus players did not give the Finn any mercy when the teams met. Laina was tackled whenever there was a place.
– The guys went after him because of that statement.
In the end, the joke hit Laine’s ankle, as the Finn had to leave the match due to an injury. The severity of the injury is not yet known.
Johnson doesn’t understand why Laine went out to boo his former teammates in public. According to the man, it would have been worthwhile to just say that “he had good years in Columbus, but it just didn’t work out”.
– He wouldn’t have had to say anything else. Or he could have said that it was hard here and losing was hard on everyone. It wouldn’t have been necessary to say that “getting lost was ok”, because then you would be pointing the finger at people. They don’t want to hear that.
Columbus star pack Zach Werenski admitted that Laine’s comments got the team talking in the locker room.
– It’s absolute horse shit that he comes here [Columbukseen] and says things like that. We’re certainly not happy about it. Those comments say more about him than about us, Werenski uploaded.
