Technicolour made a comeback this year after nearly 20 years of silence.
Technicolour, which enjoyed wild popularity at the beginning of the millennium, made a comeback in the summer. The band has toured and released new music for the first time in 18 years.
– They say some grow up in that time, the band’s soloist Jimi Pääkallo said at Sound’s 50th anniversary event on Tuesday in Helsinki.

The band performed at three festivals in the summer, and has had a gig in the fall as well.
– I wasn’t prepared at all for how big an adrenaline rush being on stage hits the heart. And when you see people you haven’t seen in 18 years, and then you see them on stage.
The background of the return is Bruce Springsteen, 76, whose film premiered at Sound’s birthday party.
Jimi Pääkallo says that he was at Pomo’s gig in Amsterdam in 2023.
– Springsteen played a three-hour gig there both nights. He performed “heart surgery” on me from the stage. I hadn’t thought before that it would be possible to still work with Technicolour, but we decided to do it this way, inspired by this gentleman.
New music from Technicolour is coming either at the end of the year or at the beginning of next year.
