The German manufacturer of sports and leisure clothing, trigema, and the German sneaker label Vlace are launching a joint collection.

The collection consists of sneakers, hoodies and T-shirts, with the sneakers made of vegan fruit leather in Portugal. They consist of innovative leather alternatives made of fruit and vegetable residues and consume 78 percent less water than conventional leather shoes. In addition, they only travel 4,500 km to the end consumer: inside, while conventional sneakers often have to cover a distance of 40,000 km.

A hoodie and an over-shirt were developed to match the white and beigen sneaker look with red accents and a monkey embroidery on the heel cap. Both tops are available in natural beige and decorated with embroidery and a back print.

“I think the cooperation is special because we bring two textile industries, shoe production and clothing production together and then bring three products onto the market that are produced sustainably and honestly and where the brands are the same – simply offering the customer an honest product,” say Bonita Grupp and Wolfgang Grupp jun., Managing partner Trigema.

Trigema was founded in Burladingen in 1919 and still produces sports and leisure clothing as a family-run company in the fourth generation.
