It was a bizarre appearance of the long -time coach at an event. It was about Thomas Tuchel’s commitment in England.

England’s former coach Harry Redknapp focused on provocative statements about Thomas Tuchel at a charity. The 78-year-old mockingly commented on the commitment of the German as head coach of the English national team at the appearance last week-even before Tuchel’s first two caps were victorious.

Redknapp apparently said in an ironic tone: “To be honest, I think he’s a German spy. Honestly. Honestly. He was sent to finish us.” He continued that Tuchel received an instruction: “Go across and ruin the team.” The statements initially triggered laughter in the audience.

However, a subsequent Redknapps caused a sensation: he raised his left arm-English media regarded this as a possible allusion to a Nazi greeting. This behavior was clearly criticized in social networks and comments.

Redknapp, who trained West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur in his career, with his statements referred to the first coach from Germany in the history of the “Three Lions”. Before Tuchel, Sven-Göran Eriksson and Fabio Capello had only two other foreign coaches looked after.

The 51-year-old Tuchel has been in office since the beginning of the year. After moving to the English Association, he led the national team to a successful start: In the first two games, the team around captain Harry Kane prevailed 2-0 against Albania and 3-0 against Latvia.
