The Hamburg jewelry branchist Bijou Brigitte Fashionable Accessoires AG had to accept a decline in profits in the 2024 financial year.
According to the preliminary, still unchecked figures, the profit had reached an amount of 33.5 million euros before earnings taxes last year, the company said on Thursday. Compared to the previous year’s level of EUR 36.0 million, the input tax result decreased by almost seven percent, but remained within the framework of the forecast breakdown of 32.0 to 42.0 million euros.
The retailer justified the decline in “significantly increased costs”. The company was “almost at the level of the previous year” with 23.6 million euros, the company said. In 2023, Bijou Brigitte had achieved a net profit of 24.1 million euros.
The company had already announced a small increase in sales at the beginning of January. According to the now figures, the proceeds were 333.9 million euros in 2024, which corresponds to an increase of 1.8 percent compared to the previous year.
The jewelry dealer wants to publish its final annual results in April. He already presented a dividend proposal. “With the reservation of the verification of the group result”, a dividend of EUR 3.50 per piece shares on June 24, the company said.
