From Uithoorn he walked to Hoofddorp, to get his Haarlemmermeerse stamp there. “That was a lot of walking along the highway,” he says, “and along Schiphol, not the nicest route.” He liked walking from the Groene Hart along the Amstel towards Amstelland. “There you have very nice places.”
Frank Wormerland and Zaanstad have since passed. Today he visits the municipality of Oostzaan.

Frank only has a backpack with him. For his sleeping places and meals, he depends on the generosity of people along his route. The hospitality of North Hollanders is not disappointing, it turns out. For almost all his nights in our province, he has fixed shelter, only before April 4 in Opmeer he is still looking for a place.
What would his wife have found if she had heard of this adventure? Frank laughs: “He knew that I occasionally had crazy ideas!”
