Again hope in the basement

The commitment of coaching routiner Dieter Hecking paid off for VfL Bochum. Now the district club extends the contract with the 60-year-old, under which the club can take hope again. Hecking should remain two more years until 2027.
Hecking made the Bochumer from an apparently safe relegation to one of the teams who are most likely to have a league in the table cellar. “Dieter Hecking has shown every day since taking office that he is the right one for us,” emphasized VfL managing director Ilja Kaenzig. “And his statement proves that he felt and noticed what he has at VfL as well.”
Hecking explained: “VfL Bochum is a great club, I have already mentioned that and find it every day. We are on the right track, but not yet on the goal. Currently my full focus applies to relegation. This scenario is the only thing I am currently concerned with, on this goal we all work together in the club, the team, the coaching staff and the staff, of course also the fans. I’m firmly convinced that we can do it. “
