Lara Gut-Behrami had a difficult season, which was still crowned in the end. Now she gives details.

Despite a significant success in the Super-G with winning the crystal ball, Lara Gut-Behrami looks back on a stressful time. The Swiss ski racer confessed to “Eurosport” that she had to struggle mentally this season.

The 33-year-old said: “Skiing was already there. But I was empty in my head.” She emphasized that her problem was not due to her attitude: “It had nothing to do with the motivation, but with the joy of skiing.”

One reason for this difficult phase was the change of her long -standing conditioner Alejo Hervas to the Marco Odermatt team. Gut-Behrami openly admitted that she had made this departure emotionally. “It hurt me,” she explained and honestly added: “This is still a sensitive topic.”

Although in the end she secured a conciliatory end of the season with winning the small crystal ball, the way there was shaped by internal fights. The Swiss man explained: “I was just sad and wanted to disappear, far away. It is difficult to digest.”

Then the wife of the ex-soccer player Valon Behrami said: “It is a miserable feeling when you win everything and still feel so lonely.” However, she realized that she had to look ahead. “I have a wonderful family and it would not be right to take us the opportunity to enjoy success like this and instead annoy with the past,” said Lara Gut-Behrami.
