Downing Street admonishes Chelsea fans

After shouting “Abramovich” in the stadium, the British government called the fans of English Champions League winners Chelsea to order.

“We recognize fans’ feelings for their clubs but that does not excuse this behavior which is totally inappropriate at this time,” said a Downing Street spokesman.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the British government for his alleged closeness to Russian President Vladimir Putin and has also been banned from running London football club by the Premier League.

However, in Sunday’s game against Newcastle, Chelsea fans chanted their support for the club’s previous 55-year-old owner, who is now looking to sell the club.

For the time being, Chelsea FC is no longer allowed to transfer players, sell tickets for games and had to close all fan shops. The budget for trips abroad is also very limited.
