Hanna Öberg looks back on her biathlon season. After the season finale in Oslo, the Swede also commented on the dramatic showdown between Franziska Preuss and Lou JeanMonnot.
Hanna Öberg has completed the 2024/25 biathlon season in the twelfth place of the overall World Cup.
“Overall, I don’t find it acceptable. After the World Cup, it was better, but overall I would have liked a lot more, and I think I did the job but didn’t get the reward for it,” the 29-year-old is quoted by “Expresses” with regard to her day.
“But there are some things that I have to work on. A little more self -confidence and I think I could have achieved more. So little is missing, I know that I have the ability to do so,” added Öberg.
Complicated biathlon season 2024/25
The Swedish ski hunter celebrated great success in her biathlon career, including two Olympic wins and three gold medals at World Championships. In the recent winter, however, she often lacked the necessary consistency. In the meantime, Öberg had to take a forced break for health reasons.
The shape curve showed again in the right direction for the end of the season. The second place jumped out in the persecution of Nove Mesto and in the short singles of Pokljuka.
“It was really dramatic”
After the final start of the mass in Oslo, Öberg also commented on the showdown between Franziska Preuss and Lou JeanMonnot.
The two biathletes only made the profit of the large crystal ball in the last round (The highlights are available in the video above!). JeanMonnot fell shortly before the finish, Prussia ultimately triumphed in the overall World Cup.
“It was really dramatic, but sad that it happened,” Öberg commented on the preliminary scene: “But I think that happens and I hope that both are still happy and satisfied.”
