Only with large exercises is the army visible, but 2,300 soldiers work in the West-Flemish military quarters. Zeebrugge and Koksijde-Lombardsijde stand out: “In Koksijde we have our four NH90 helicopters that everyone knows from aan Zee. In the future, four helicopters will be added to accomplish our tasks,” says Isabelle Lahaye, military commander of West Flanders.
