On Monday the ex-national goal should be released again-but it did not come. The judge called on the plan, who could not help but a saying towards Lehmann.
Jens Lehmann again makes headlines – this time through his absence in court. The former national goalkeeper should appear in the Munich District Court on Monday at 8.55 a.m., but he did not appear.
District court spokesman Dr. Martin Swoboda told the picture: “In the present date, the court found that the person concerned did not appear despite the proper load without sufficient sorry.
The responsible judge, who had already dealt with Lehmann’s case for the third time, commented on the absence of the 55-year-old with a joke: “He could have taken a taxi or a helicopter.” Background of this remark: In his time as a goalkeeper at VfB Stuttgart, Lehmann occasionally flew with a helicopter from Lake Starnberg to training.
The current procedure was about an administrative offense: on June 22, 2024, Lehmann was caught with a cell phone at the wheel of a car. A police patrol stopped him at 11.47 a.m. on the Landshuter Allee in the Munich district of Neuhausen. Lehmann was traveling in a car sharing car. The result: a fine of 100 euros and a point in Flensburg.
Lehmann had appealed against this punishment, which led to the negotiation. Since the ex-goalkeeper and his lawyer stayed away from the appointment, the court rejected the appeal. Lehmann can appeal against the judgment within a week.
In advance, his lawyer had tried to have the procedure hired because the cell phone violation is less important in view of other ongoing procedures. However, prosecutor Iris Koch rejected this. She explained: “The cell phone case has nothing to do with the chainsaw case, so it has to be separated.”
The “chainsaw case” goes back to an incident from 2022 when Lehmann dropped an attic on the garage to his neighbor with a chainsaw. The Munich Regional Court sentenced him to a fine of 135,000 euros.
A few days before this process, Lehmann was also caught drunk at the wheel. The public prosecutor then applied for a penalty order of 80 daily rates. Since this alcohol ride took place in front of the chainsaw judgment, the court had to set a total sentence. According to information, this is now 190 daily rates of 900 euros each – a total of 171,000 euros.
Lehmann also appealed against this penalty order. That is why a new trial before the Munich District Court will occur on April 3.
