Froukje de Both is a very naive girl if she saw her daily show of her own home & garden: nice life did not arrive, believes Rob Verlinden. “Stupidly amazed!”
Day television is already a poor child, but with the tube of your own home & garden: nice life remains very little with the commercials. According to RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst it was simply not profitable anymore and then it will of course end. Presenter Froukje de Both and her two helpers are completely upside down.
Upset
Rob Verlinden, one of the founders of the Eigen Huis & Tuin brand, finds Froukje a bit naive. He doesn’t surprise anything that this show disappears from the tube. “No, not really,” he says in Party. “For example, I was stunned when I heard that about a hundred people were involved in this program. I didn’t know what I heard!”
He continues: “We made the program with a maximum of forty people, but that was an exception.
A hundred men, that costs a power. It is therefore no different than this program was heavily loss -making. I have been walking in this world long enough to be able to judge that. “
Financial picture
So Froukje could have known, says Rob. “It just went down on the basis of the financial picture. RTL is a commercial channel and when a program yields nothing, the plug goes out.”
According to him, the viewers were also elderly. “I heard them tell them on TV that they have been called by care homes that find it terrible that the program is stopping. Then I think: care homes? Then RTL has definitely made a good decision!”

Rob himself was not a fan either. “I actually never looked at their program myself. I think you should never look at your successor at all. I think I may have looked twice in all those years.”
“Again, that Hugo and Froukje have not seen the end of their own home & garden: I really don’t understand that nice life.”
